The American Kennel Club
The American Kennel Club is where you will find all the required information about German Shepherd Breed requirements. This is a particularly important organization that you will need to be aware of if you intend to show your German Shepherd at dog shows.

Shepherd Rescue
This is a website that can provide you with German Shepherds that have been lost and rescued in the Washington DC & Virginia area. This is where you would go if you do not have a lot of money to buy a breeding German Shepherd and are simply looking for a German Shepherd to own as a pet, not as a show dog.
